HIKE.EXPLORE.REPEAT.

I’m Allison, and I grew up in the rural mountains of Western North Carolina. With Pisgah National Forest right out my backdoor, I was spoiled by a public playground of endless woods. I was lucky to have parents that instilled a love of nature, travel, and adventure into our family, and my wanderlust has only grown through the years.

I hike most days of the week, and am always mentally planning future travels. Anywhere I go, seeking out trails is on the agenda. In addition to exploring nature, I also feel called to the world’s historic architectural wonders. It blows my mind to think about places that are so ancient, awe-inspiring, and yet we cannot fully understand how they were created in more presumably primitive times.

As a career, I’ve owned and operated two businesses for the last 15 years: wncweddings.net and skillfulsolutions.net. I also am an active volunteer firefighter and search & rescuer, serving as a Deputy Fire Chief.

I spent many years as a single mom, and my son Parker became one of my favorite exploratory companions. Then about 10 years ago, I met an amazing man Ian who became my partner in life and in travel. My son is now occupied in the urban jungles of Raleigh, NC working towards a Masters of Engineering Management degree. I look forward to his visits home to join me on the trails and in the fire & rescue world, where he grew up alongside me and also joined the ranks as a both a firefighter and rescuer too. As many of my hikes are solo, I also appreciate having a trusty four legged companion. My previous rescue, Sprocket, was a Husky/Shepherd mix, and I’m currently joined by Vader, who is a Shepherd/Blue Heeler rescue.
